Anamaria Aristizabal is a Certified Integral Coach®, consultant, and trained facilitator working to support individuals, groups, and organizations in their development and change initiatives. She loves to design transformative coaching programs, as well as workshops and change interventions with creative and participatory methodologies. With her work she hopes to inspire, empower, and transform, in order to generate positive social, environmental, and economic impact. Her ultimate purpose is to contribute to a human presence that is more environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling.
She is based in Bogotá, Colombia, with projects and clients in the USA and various countries in Latin America. As an independent consultant, she has done projects on organizational development, business, and sustainability, in the public, education, social, and private sectors. She has worked for the World Bank, the Andean Development Bank, the Colombian Environment Ministry, the Mining Ministry, the Science and Technology Department, the National University of Colombia, the National Institute for Anthropology and History, the Dutch Embassy, the innovative nonprofit “Somos Más,” among others.
Prior to being an independent consultant, she was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co, where she worked in strategies projects in Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Brazil. She acquired a love of social innovation while working at the nonprofit Ashoka, supporting social entrepreneurs focused on environmental innovations, in Washington, New Delhi, Bogotá, and Lima.
Anamaria has an MBA and a Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University and also holds a BA in Biology from Mount Holyoke College. She is part of many networks and communities. She is a founding member of the Aldeafeliz Ecovillage, an ecological community of 30 people based on a 7 acre piece of land on the outskirts of Bogotá, embodying a model of living that is socially just, environmental sustainable and spiritually fulfilling. She is also a founding member of the Society of Organizational Learning, Colombia chapter, and a founding member and executive board member of the Foundation for Reconciliation. She is an associated facilitator and consultant of several organizations, including “La Arenera” (the Sandbox – a local chapter of the HUB- community of social innovation and social entrepreneurship), “TejeRedes”, which disseminates lessons on the functioning of human networks, and DBM, an international firm working on organizational behavior and transition management.
Anamaria was born and raised in Bogotá and has lived many years in the United States. She speaks fluent Spanish, English, and French. She has traveled to more than 30 countries for work, study, and pleasure. Her friends describe her as a passionate person, energetic, inquisitive, and a great networker. She is restored by nature, music, healthy living, and among all, her inner work. She loves to sing and play piano and is an avid yoga practitioner.
