Alyson Dorr has devoted her career to helping individuals and groups become more effective and fulfilled. An independent consultant and coach since 1997, her clients have included Hewlett-Packard, NASA, Andersen Consulting and several not-for-profit organizations. Certified as an Integral Coach® in 1999 through New Ventures West, Alyson is currently part of their faculty. She leads the two-day course, Coaching to Excellence, and coaches participants in the year-long certification program.
Previously, Alyson served as Training and Development Specialist at the NASA Ames Research Center. In this role she created and facilitated workshops and interventions, performed organizational assessments, and coached managers and supervisors at many levels. She ran the Center’s Leadership Development and Career Development programs during a period of significant organizational changes.
Alyson has a BA in English Literature and a certificate in Organization Development, both from UCLA. She is also certified in Managing Transitions (Dr. William Bridges), The Human Element (Dr. Will Schutz), and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Alyson has worked and traveled independently throughout Europe, Asia and Central America, including teaching for Mother Teresa’s Sisters of Charity in Calcutta, India.
Alyson lives in Santa Rosa, CA with her husband and twin children, born in 2005. Lately, Alyson mostly enjoys learning from her two favorite gurus, her son and daughter. When time permits she also enjoys reading, yoga, dance and learning about world cultures and religions.
